P.G. Winter:
I used the instructions for complicated bets and actually won the Trifecta, three straight across the board bets, and a boxed Exacta for a very large pay off in the 2014 Belmont.

Rick B:
I found that the lessons on reading a program very helpful. I think that the author could have spent more time on betting strategies. I ended up betting a $1 5/All Exacta (Cost $18) in this years derby and won $170. I should have bet $2 each. I also hit the trifecta for $1700 (5/4-17) in that same race making it the best betting day ever for me. …………… Anyway, I was inspired to bet exactas and learned a lot about reading a program. Buy it.

G:
This is a great book for handicappers, especially the casual fan.
In depth handicapping of an actual race, as well as explanation of why playing Exactas can be more profitable.
This book is written by a everyday horse racing fan, who is willing to help other fans be more successful winning at the track. The book also includes the writers personal lifetime experiences, and annual visits to the Kentucky Derby.

Andrew:
After a recent trip to Vegas I bought this book to get an introductory look at handicapping. The book is certainly written for a beginner to intermediate handicapper. While it is rather short, it is well written and is dense with useful information. The highlight of the book is the author talking through handicapping an entire race, very useful. I recommend the book.

I have read several handicapping books that all were great, but I never felt like I completely understood how to read the pp’s. Keith breaks it down so you understand it. It is just as if he was sitting there.

I bought this book for my husband. He has found it helpful with online betting. Trip to the track soon.

Super D:
I have been handicapping for over 50 years. I have owned 3 horses, gone to 37 straight Kentucky Derbies, and am considered a very good handicapper by most folks. However, I have had a couple of really bad years lately. I bought the book hoping to get someone else’s handicapping perspectives. I now realize that I was not putting enough emphasis on certain parts of the racing equation. I made a few changes in my selection process and my recent results have been very positive.

If you have any friends or family who are interested in horse racing (or making money!), this book would be the perfect gift. The tracks used to seem like a foreign world to me, but this book was like my Rosetta Stone. A must buy!
